Having customer loyalty in Amazon is not a dream, although it needs extended efforts. Amazon works very differently than other retailers. You need to be creative and have a deep understanding of how algorithms work in Amazon to be able to tie with your customers for long time.
Different brands have different loyalty programs for their frequent consumers, but the post-pandemic world has decreased the appeal.
The main reason for these retractions is the sellers get more benefits from the programs than the customer. Who can blame a customer for losing interest in something that doesn’t give them benefits?
Stock analysts have mixed feeling about Amazon’s Premium customer loyalty program: Amazon Prime. But before we get into the ‘whys’ and ‘hows’, let’s take a look at what exactly a loyalty program is.
Customer Loyalty Program
A loyalty program is a marketing strategy used by brands to keep giving their loyal customers special rewards to encourage them to continue buying their products or use their services.
Every other business has a loyalty program these days, from your local grocery stores to high-end retail brands.
But most of these loyalty programs are designed only for the benefits of the businesses and not the customer. They take your information, give you free rewards, but then hound you with emails for different discount deals, which may or may not be beneficial to you. On top of that, just keeping a bunch of these cards is a hassle on its own.
Amazon Customer Loyalty Program
Amazon Prime is a paid subscription that gives members special perks for a monthly or yearly fee.
There are mixed feelings whether it’s as successful for Amazon as it seems, but it is a tremendous success for the customers. And that’s the core difference between other Loyalty programs and Amazon Prime. It targets customer convenience before anything else.
Amazon Prime solved the biggest problem of the shoppers: Time consumption. Anything you buy, it will be shipped to you within two working days. The shipping cost is covered in the subscription fee and the product is delivered to your doorstep.
And it doesn’t stop there! Amazon keeps adding on the benefits over time, and the target of these improvements is customer convenience.
Nowadays, products are delivered within a day or in few scant hours as well.
Is Amazon Prime a Lost Cause
It most definitely is not. Statistics show that the subscribers of the program are happy and enjoy various options that they cannot have on any other platform. India has become the highest growing market for the services.
Despite the highly competitive market, it is notable that many of the competitors of Amazon use its services and place their utmost trust. If the creativity of the Amazon team continues backed by a good customer support, we can safely assume that the future for Amazon carries the highest rate of loyal customers as compared to the rest of the competition.
